Many people know the Disney tale of Beauty and the Beast, but this book adds a spin to the story. Belle remains the kind and caring person she is, but learns from her mistakes. I am not a huge fan of Beauty and the Beast, but this book is really enjoyable. With the vivid details and perfect balance of action and thought, this book is an easy read. I really got the sense of being in France from this story and who the characters from Beauty and the Beast really are. The way the book ends, I suspect a sequel in the making.
The story is about Belle already trapped in Beast's enchanted castle with Lumiere (a candelabrum), Cogsworth (a clock), Mrs. Potts (a teapot), Chip (a tea cup), Froufrou (A foot rest), and Plumette (a duster). Belle is given the library as a gift from Beast. Her oppression from being locked away in the castle dissipates at her new library. Belle can visit it whenever she wants. But, inside this library lies enchanted books. One book called Nevermore lures Belle into a world of luxury, exotic people, and adventure. Little does Belle know that this book has more than just a lavish world for her.
I recommend this book to those that enjoy well-known tales and a touch of Disney magic. Disney has a way of transporting someone out of the ordinary world and into the extraordinary. This book has an eye catching cover and a heartwarming story.
